Tiny House Listings recently unveiled a new towable dwelling called the Lad. It is perfect for those seeking low-budget downsizing options that are comfortable and cozy. The Lad features a practical and compact interior that can happily house two people. The Lad is an updated version of one of the firm’s previous models, and it is based on a double-axle trailer. It features a length of 20 feet and is the same size as most European tiny homes. The exterior includes painted metal and is topped off with a metal roof.

Designer: Tiny House Listings

The interior of the house occupies around 160 square feet, and it features a finishing in ply. An open layout has been placed on one floor, with the entrance leading to a compact living area that includes a sofa and space for a TV. A storage unit has been integrated as well. The kitchen is closely located, and it isn’t fully featured.

But it does include a countertop, a sink and an electric stove, a fridge/freezer, and an area for appliances and extra storage. The bathroom is also placed nearby, and you can access it via a sliding door. It contains a flushing toilet, a shower, and a small sink.

The tiny home only includes one bedroom, and since it is on the ground floor, it includes plenty of headroom to stand upright. The bedroom includes a double bed with integrated storage, as well as a mini-split air-conditioner, which will heat and cool the entire home. Enough though the bedroom isn’t the largest, the fact that you can stand upright, unlike most bedrooms in other tiny homes is a plus point.

The Lad isn’t the best option if you’re looking for a spacious and roomy tiny home. But if you’re a couple or a small family, then the Lad could be a good fit for you. It includes all the basic amenities, as well as a sense of comfort and coziness that other modern homes often miss out on. Currently, the Lad is priced at US$47,500.

Recyclable paper wine bottle reduces carbon footprint and shipping costs

Normally, we like to enjoy our wine from a bottle. When it comes from a box, there’s a certain impression that it might be cheap wine and some “connoisseurs” will probably not be caught dead drinking wine like that. But as we’re looking for more sustainable packaging for a lot of products, we can probably consider having wine not exactly from a bottle.

Designer: Frugalpac

The Frugal Bottle is not exactly box packaging but it is made from recyclable paper. The more interesting thing about this though is that instead of a box shape, you get one that is shaped like an actual bottle. It can fit 750mL of liquid is like a standard wine bottle. But while regular bottles can be recycled as well, this has six times lower carbon footprint while still letting wine manufacturers have 360 degree branding.

The main point of this kind of bottle is that it is designed to be recycled since its outer surface is made from 94% recyclable paperboard. There’s a polyethelene pouch inside to hold the liquid. It’s also easy to dispose of it after you’ve finished off the wine. There’s a demarcated spot on the shoulder and you just need to press it to split the seam and get it ready for disposal or to bring it to the recycling center.

Another benefit to this kind of packaging is that it’s way lighter than the glass wine bottle. In fact, it’s five times lighter so that means your shipping costs will be drastically affected. I’m not sure if there’s an effect on the taste of the wine with this packaging. But the fact that brands like Cantina Goccia have adopted this may mean that it is acceptable for manufacturers and maybe even the sometimes snobbish connoisseurs.

At a glance, the A2 Badger is unassuming, its compact closed frame disappearing effortlessly into a pocket or clipped onto gear. But this knife thrives on challenging assumptions. Deploy the blade using its spring-loaded switch, and it transforms into a formidable tool. The 1.85-inch tanto-style blade, crafted from titanium-coated D2 steel, isn’t just about sharpness—it’s a powerhouse of durability and precision. The angular design is ideal for piercing tough materials, while the titanium coating ensures the blade resists wear and tear, even during heavy use. It’s a blade built not just for cutting but for enduring.

The A2 Badger button boasts an exceptional grip, ensuring maximum grip and control in any situation.

With its compact and lightweight design, the A2 Badger is both easy to store and transport, making it a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts and those with limited space.

There’s something about carbonated beverages that just makes them so addictive, even without the sugar. The bubbly texture that flows down through your throat, the rich aromas that excite your nose, and, of course, the flavors that delight your tongue all contribute to a unique drinking sensation. Ironically, these beverages are often delivered in vessels that make a mockery of that experience, be it the PET bottles that leave you feeling guilty over the health of the planet, or more commonly, the aluminum cylinders that make you feel like you’re smooching a metal can.

You could always pour it into a glass, but you might not always have the luxury of having one with you. Thanks to this innovative can opener, however, you no longer have to bear with the awkwardness of drinking from a small opening and can now taste your favorite fizzy beverage with more freedom and enjoyment.

Designer: Shu Kanno

Soda and beer cans are made for convenience rather than comfort. Their structure and mechanism are designed around the nature of the drink rather than the person who will be drinking from it. That tab makes it easy to create an opening for the liquid to pass through, but that opening, along with the lip around it, makes the drinking experience more mechanical than enjoyable. It feels awkward and unnatural, forcing people to use sub-optimal solutions like straws or reach for glasses that might not be there in the first place.

But what if you can easily just take the lid off the can and drink from it in a more natural manner? That’s the kind of liberating experience that DAVI Can Opener offers, opening up the whole top of the can rather than forcing you to drink from a small circle. Drink from the can directly as you would from an aluminum cup, or add ice or flavored ice cubes to enhance the flavor. Your limit is only the size of the can and the available space in it.

Best of all, you don’t need a complicated machine or a bulky tool to add this new dimension to your drink. This soda can lid remover looks like a giant carabiner and can be easily stored in your bag or EDC kit to take with you anywhere. Using it is just as simple as well. Just hook the translucent plastic part under the can’s pull tab and clamp the opener around the lid. Give the can a few turns until the lid is fully separated from the body, then gently lift it up while securing the pull tab with your finger so that the lid doesn’t fall into the can.

This ingenious can opener was meticulously designed to make sure that there are no sharp edges to cut your finger or your lip, no aluminum shavings to contaminate your drink, and no lid to fall into the can. All it leaves is an unadulterated, carbonated liquid in a vessel that frees not just the sharp flavor but also the rich aromas of the beverage. With this soda can lid remover, you can enjoy a cool, refreshing drink anywhere and in a way that truly brings out the best of your beverage.

It features a length of 44 feet, making it one of the bigger models on the market, and a width of 12 feet.

Indoor plants, available in a diverse range of sizes, shapes, colors, and textures, have evolved into flexible and artistic decoration options cherished by homeowners. In essence, plants captivate attention, akin to great art, becoming focal points that elevate interior aesthetics and seamlessly complement all areas within a home.

1. Layer the Plants

Arranging plants in layers can wonderfully infuse vitality and fascination into any space. 9. Create Wall Art with Plants

Creating wall art using indoor plants transforms vertical spaces into living masterpieces, blending natural beauty with artistic expression. European tiny homes may not be as large and extravagant as their North American counterparts, but they do tend to be more detailed and impressive. Since the towing laws in Europe are stricter, they tend to be more compact and lightweight. Designed by Baluchon, Leïla’s Tiny House is a comfortable and cozy home featuring a length of 20 feet. It is a lovely light-filled space that is ideal for two people.

Designer: Baluchon

The tiny home is based on a double-axle trailer and features a finishing in red cedar, topped with a metal roof. It has a compact size, amped with generous glazing. The interior of the home is finished in spruce, and hints of Moroccan-inspired color have been added to the home, integrating an interesting vibe. The inside feels warm and inviting. The vibrant colors create an environment that also feels lively, forming a positive aura.

The home features one entrance that leads you to the kitchen. It is quite spacious for a tiny French home, with a simple yet well-equipped interior. The home includes an oven, a two-burner propane-powered stove, a sink, a small fridge and freezer, cabinetry, and a breakfast bar for two. The living room is closely located, and it includes a large window as well as a small wood-burning stove for warmth. A big daybed with integrated storage is included as well, and it can be used as a sofa and guest bed.

The opposite end of the house hosts the bathroom. It can be accessed through a sliding door, and it is equipped with a toilet and shower, but no sink. This isn’t hygienic and is pretty inconvenient if we’re honest. Residents will have to wash their hands in the kitchen. The home only includes one bedroom, and it can be accessed by a wooden ladder. The bedroom is like most bedrooms found in tiny homes, with a low ceiling, a double bed, and shelving. Leïla’s Tiny Home is priced at US$90,000.

OODA recently unveiled the Hora Verticale in Tirana, Albania, and they are back with another banger – Ndarja. Ndarja is a square, high-rise building that will be located in central Tirana. It measures around 355,000 sq ft and will span over 22 floors. The word Ndarja roughly translates to split or separation in Albanian, which does the building justice, since it will be pulled apart to create two visually intriguing towers.

One tower will accommodate office spaces on the lower floors and luxurious residences on the upper floors. The second tower will contain a retail space downstairs and a hotel on the upper stories.

Designer: OODA

The exterior is quite fascinating, and it will be covered with different plants and trees. The vegetation selected will be tough enough to handle the wind and sunlight while offering shade to the residents. The exterior will also include perforated metal sheeting to regulate the sunlight. The ground level will host a square with a reflective pool and more greenery. This space will be integrated between both towers.

“A transparent water mirror serves as a portal at its core, drawing natural light underground and linking the exterior to the interior,” said OODA. “This open area integrates the greenery from the surrounding streets, the square, and the balcony gardens, creating a pleasant microclimate for the neighborhood. The square, no longer just a passageway, becomes a true urban oasis.”

The facade is earthy-toned, allowing the structure to blend seamlessly with the city. The metal sheets reflect the balconies into the city, thereby mirroring the urban environment and creating an interaction that binds the inside and the surroundings. This forms a harmonious connection between the interior environment and the urban environment.

The incredible project is currently in the licensing phase, and Ndarja is expected to be constructed in 2029. This impressive project is a part of a large construction effort in Tirana which includes multiple other impressive buildings such as the Bond Tower and Klan TV HQ by OODA, and other structures by BIG and MVRDV.

There’s some debate around the premise that having multiple computer monitors can improve your productivity. Whether true or not, the suggestion is practically useless for people on the go with laptops. Yes, you can bring an extra portable monitor with you, but that’s the maximum you can probably have that’s still reasonably portable.

Unsurprisingly, there are some attempts these days to attach not just one but two monitors to a laptop while still trying to keep the bulk and heft to a bare minimum. Equally unsurprising is how it still might not be enough for some people who really want to take their productivity to the next level. This dual-monitor system tries to bring that multi-monitor desktop experience to laptop users but is probably going to earn them some odd glances and dumbfounded stares.

Designer: Base Case

Until the day we are all comfortably wearing AR glasses that can put up any number of virtual monitors in front of our eyes, we will always be at the mercy of the laws of physics. In short, the more monitors you have, the more space you’ll need to occupy, and the more weight you’ll have to carry around in addition to your laptop. That’s why those “triple screen” laptop designs try to minimize the size and weight of the additional screens at the expense of screen size.

This rather unusual design, on the other hand, makes no qualms about appearances. It offers not one but two large 24-inch monitors on the go to supplement your laptop’s measly 16-inch screen. There is no bag that will fit two 24-inch monitors, so the Base Case comes with its own. Yes, as the name so plainly points out, these two monitors are stuffed in a suitcase the size of a carry-on.

Unlike regular luggage, these “screens in a bag” have a hinge at the top and you set it sideways like a desktop dual monitor setup. Your laptop will lie beneath this contraption that’s held up high with two telescopic legs. Given the size of the unfolded Base Case, you’ll definitely want some horizontal clearance for your multi-monitor laptop setup.

Aside from the sheer ridiculousness of its appearance, there are a few things that make Base Case less than ideal as a portable multiple monitor solution. Despite its size, there is practically nothing else inside that suitcase other than the monitors and retractable cables. A decent battery would have been nice, especially since you’ll have to plug the monitors in for power. And while it does have space for storing your laptop and other items so you won’t have to carry a separate bag, pulling luggage around isn’t always feasible or convenient, especially in crowded transportation.
